Mayk Koria – Lawyer

Mayk is a specialist in insolvency law. He provides legal advice to companies, shareholders and directors in the event of restructurings, relaunches or impending bankruptcy. Mayk also assists directors in legal proceedings on directors’ liability. Mayk is regularly appointed as bankruptcy receiver by the District Court of Amsterdam in bankruptcies.

He also provides legal advice and conducts litigation on issues relating to agreements, shareholder disputes and entering into and completing credit relationships and securities transactions. Mayk has a very broad client base, from small to large businesses, both at home and abroad.

Mayk always endeavours to achieve the best possible results for his clients by being decisive and persistent.

Mayk graduated from Tilburg University in 2014. His thesis was on director’s liability in insolvency situations. While studying, he worked for a law firm in Amsterdam, and after graduating he was offered a position as a lawyer there. He joined Labré in 2017.

Mayk completed the postgraduate course in Insolvency Law for Bankruptcy Receivers and the Corporate Law course. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Young Insolvency Lawyers (JIRA).

In addition to his work as a layer, Mayk is one of the editors of the Amsterdam Bar Bulletin and a board member of the The National Foundation for the Promotion of Happiness, a not-for-profit network that serves children in asylum seeker centres in the Netherlands.

Mr. Koria has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):Insolventierecht (Faillissementen en Surceance van betaling) en Ondernemingsrecht (Bestuurdersaansprakelijkheid, fusies en overnames en Vennootschappen). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
