{"id":15702,"date":"2024-03-22T12:47:22","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T11:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/labre.nl\/?p=15702"},"modified":"2024-03-22T13:35:38","modified_gmt":"2024-03-22T12:35:38","slug":"uk-changes-to-company-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labre.nl\/en\/2024\/03\/22\/uk-changes-to-company-law\/","title":{"rendered":"UK: Changes to company law"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The UK has implemented changes to company law on 4 March 2024 as a result of the <strong><span style=\"color: #f18101\">Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main changes that have been rolled out are:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #f18101;text-decoration: underline\">1. Registered office address<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All companies are now required to have an \u2018appropriate address\u2019. This is an address where any documents sent to it should (a) be expected to come to the attention of a person acting on behalf of the company (usually a director), and (b) be able to be recorded by an acknowledgment of delivery.<\/p>\n<p>A company can therefore no longer use a PO Box as its registered office address. Companies that do not have an appropriate address face the risk of being struck off the register.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #f18101;text-decoration: underline\">2. Registered email address<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On incorporation, or on filing the next confirmation statement in the case of existing companies, all companies must provide an email address. Companies House may use this to correspond with the company, but it will not be made publicly available.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #f18101;text-decoration: underline\">3.
