Lord Dominic Johnson addresses delegates at WLN’s Spring Conference in London

On Friday we held a business conference at The Law Society on Chancery Lane in London as part of our WLN Spring Conference. The theme of our conference was ‘Bridging Borders for International Business’ and our final speaker, Lord Johnson, encapsulated this message in his presentation, demonstrating how the English rule of law attracts foreign investments to the UK; even following Brexit. The presentation was moderated by Steen Rosenfalck, partner at ebl miller rosenfalck, WLN hosting firm in London.

Lord Dominic Johnson of Lainston CBE was appointed Minister of State in the Department for Business and Trade on 7 February 2023, and was previously Minister of State in the Department for International Trade between 24 November 2022 and 7 February 2023.

He has spent over 25 years in financial services, beginning his career at Robert Fleming in 1995, before moving to Hong Kong to work for Jardine Fleming and then in 2002 he headed the marketing for Lloyd George Asset Management – an emerging markets specialist firm. Between 2017 and 2019 he was vice-chairman of the Conservative Party.

We are grateful to the Minister for sharing his insight with our global delegation.
