Francis ten Broeke – Lawyer

Francis is a specialist in employment law. She gives legal advice and conducts litigation on a wide range of employment law issues, such as terms & conditions of employment, reorganisations, individual and collective dismissal, summary dismissal, occupational disability and reintegration and non-competition clauses.

She also deals with privacy law issues. These include cases that have both an employment law and a privacy law aspect, such as control and supervision in the workplace and monitoring of employees. But she also has knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the processing of personal data, accountability under the GDPR and (reporting) data breaches.

Francis mainly represents employers. She provides them with legal advice and conducts litigation for both SMEs and large national and international companies. Francis also regularly acts on behalf of employees.

In all cases, Francis opts for a practical and clear approach. She is approachable, accessible and her advice is to the point and clear. She always seeks to analyse the question: what does her client want to achieve? This means that a practical approach may at times be preferable to a substantive legal solution.

In 2013 Francis graduated from Maastricht University. During her studies, Francis worked at a legal consultancy for more than four years, where she gave advice to entrepreneurs on various legal matters. She also studied at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa for six months. After graduating, Francis worked in the corporate sector and as a corporate and employment lawyer at FrankfortSluis Advocaten in Haarlem.

Francis graduated cum laude from the postgraduate specialisation training program Corporate- and Business Law at Grotius Academie. Grotius Academie is a collaboration between the law faculties of the universities of Amsterdam, Groningen, Leiden, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Rotterdam and Tilburg. She is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers Association (VAAN). She has been treasurer and president of the board of the Dutch Young Bar Foundation (in Dutch: SJBN), a foundation that represents the interests of young lawyers in the Netherlands.

Mr. ten Broeke has registered the following principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Arbeidsrecht.

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
