Jelmer Feenstra – Lawyer
Jelmer works in the fields of corporate and insolvency law. He provides legal advice and conducts litigation on issues related to contracts, forms of collaboration, financing, securities and and the enforcement of security interests and shareholder disputes. In addition, Jelmer advises companies, shareholders and directors on reorganisations, restructurings, relaunches and impending bankruptcies. As the district court in Amsterdam regularly appoints him as bankruptcy receiver, he is in a good position to assess what receivers consider important. He readily uses this knowledge in the advice he provides.
Jelmer graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2013. After graduating, he started his career as a lawyer at AKD, where he specialised in disputes and litigation in the fields of financing, securities and insolvency. Before joining Labré in 2019, he spent a year and a half working as an in-house lawyer.
Jelmer graduated cum laude from the postgraduate specialisation training program Corporate- and Business Law at Grotius Academie. Grotius Academie is a collaboration between the law faculties of the universities of Amsterdam, Groningen, Leiden, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Rotterdam and Tilburg.
