WLN Director and Partner at bureau Plattner, Carlo Gurioli, shares the firm’s history with our network and why they choose to be a part of the WLN family:
“It was the beginning of 2015 when, after a couple of introductory calls, we had the chance to welcome Isabel and Raffaele, two colleagues at the time directors in WLN Board, in our offices in Bolzano. I recall a nice and friendly meeting where we have been able to immediately establish a connection.
A few weeks after we were invited to Brussels for our first WLN conference. I must say I was pretty nervous having to present the firm in front of so many new faces, but everyone made us so at ease that everything went smoothly. I also remember a wonderful black-tie event as we had in Zurich for our 20th anniversary and again last year in Bangkok. That’s been the time bureau Plattner entered the WLN family. I would like to stress this noun, since WLN is far beyond a professional legal network. The ultimate purpose of a network is of course to make business and help clients in their international transactions, but what makes the difference is the relationship between the members.
When we meet at conferences, even after months or years, I always have the feeling that we just met the day before, as it only with good friends and family happens. That is because, even if we all come from very different parts of the world, we all share the same culture and values: belonging, honesty, transparency, tolerance, help readiness, sincerity and straightforwardness. I know, that whatever problem I might have or whatever legal issue a client can face, our WLN family will be there for us and ready to support us as we were their own family.
I’m honored that since two years, I’ve been chosen to be on the board of WLN to serve and help to further strengthen the values of our family!”
